The DM Youth organizing committee yearly awards the "DM Youth Leaders in the Community Scholarship" to a deserving individual within the GTA Hindu community. This scholarship will be a $1000 grant which will be given for the purposes of post secondary education.

DM Youth was founded on the basis of creating unity within the Hindu community in the GTA and Canada. The group is committed to this founding principal and awarding this scholarship is a way for DM Youth to give back to the community which has instilled the values of faith, unity and education in its organizers as well as being a means to promote and foster the talent and skills of young Hindus. As young Hindus, we the organizers of DM Youth realize the unique challenges that our peers face and we believe that this scholarship is only the first of many initiatives that DM Youth will undertake in order to realize our vision of creating a social network for young Hindu professionals which all Hindus will be proud of and willing join.

Happy Diwali from DM Youth!

During this auspicious time of Diwali, Hindus throughout the world get together and offer prayer to Mother Lakshmi and give thanks for all that we have been blessed with.

From its inception, DM Youth has thrived to promote unity among Hindu youth through activities inside and outside the Mandir. The past three years have not been easy, but we have survived, matured and have made connections with many youth throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

The Hindu Swastika
In a recent news article posted in the Hinduism section of the DM Youth website, members of our community were informed of the proposed ban on the Hindu symbol of the Swastika being circulated amongst the members of the European Union. To read this article in its entirety please click here.

Locally, this was brought to my attention while tuning into a local radio station CFRB 1010 on Thursday Januray 18, 2007 who had callers phone to express their opinion on this matter. Presented below is an audio clip of this segment.
